 Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
  2. Written Main Examination (Subjective Type)
  3. Viva-Voce (Personal Interview)

 Exam Pattern: The Exam Pattern will be as follows:

 

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

  • The Exam will be Objective
  • The time Duration for the Examination will be 2
  • The Exam will be of 125 Questions and each question carry 4 marks and for every wrong question 0.20 e., 1/5 marks shall be deducted.
  • There will, however, be no negative marking in respect of un-attempted

SUBJECTS FOR PRELIMINARY EXAM

  • All Mains subjects of law.
  • Current events of national and international importance,
  • Indian legal and
  • Constitutional history and
  • Analytical skills
  • Reasoning and

MAINS EXAMINATION

  • Main Examination will be subjective/narrative
    • Exam will be conducted in English Medium except for language
    • Copy of Bare Acts of legislative enactments only shall be
    • Each written paper shall be of three hours

Paper I: Civil Law – 1 (3 hours, 200 marks)

  • Code of Civil Procedure
  • Punjab Courts Act
  • Indian Contract Act
  • Indian Partnership Act
  • Sale of Goods Act
  • Specific Relief Act
  • Indian Evidence Act and
  • Haryana Urban (Control of Rent and Eviction) Act,

Paper II: Civil Law-II (3 hours, 200 marks)

  • Hindu Law
  • Mohammadan Law and Customary Law
  • Law of Registration and Limitation

Paper III: Criminal Law (3 hours, 200 marks) 

  • Indian Penal Code
  • Criminal Procedure Code
  • Indian Evidence Act

Paper IV: English (3 hours, 200 Marks)

  • English Essay (1000 – 1100 words)
  • Precis
  • Words and Phrases (Make sentences of the given words and Phrases)
  • Comprehension
  • Corrections

Paper V: Language (3 Hours, 100 Marks)

  • Hindi (in Devnagri Script)
  • Translation of English passage into Hindi: 20
  • Explanation of Hindi passage in prose and poetry in the same language: 30
  • Composition (essay) and idioms, correction: 50

VIVA VOCE (INTERVIEW): 200 Marks 

  • To judge the personal qualities of the candidates. The viva – voce shall relate to the matters of general interest and is intended to test the candidates’ alertness, intelligence and general It shall be conducted in English.
